About Kristen

I’m a political-thriller and mystery writer based in Geelong, Australia. I’m drawn to stories where power and vulnerability collide—where the truth is layered, motives are murky, and the emotional stakes run as deep as the political ones.

Before writing fiction, I spent years working in environments where decisions were rarely black and white. That experience shaped the way I write: with an eye for nuance, a respect for complexity, and a fascination with the quiet moments that reveal who we really are.

I’m an introvert by nature, happiest with a notebook, a cup of coffee, and my schnauzer curled at my feet. My writing process is slow, deliberate, and deeply visual: wall charts, index cards, colour-coded outlines, and long thinking walks where the story often solves itself.

My debut novel is currently in revision. It follows a woman navigating a political crisis and the misogyny embedded in the halls of powers, and the personal costs paid for choosing integrity when the stakes are high.

A few things I believe in

  • Stories are built in the quiet moments.

  • Power is most interesting when it’s personal.

  • Mystery is less about clues and more about consequences.

  • A good walk solves more plot problems than a long writing session.
